Food Drive Finishes "Above Water"

During the weekend of October 23-25, 2009, a dedicated group of volunteers from St. Mary's Church in Wells conducted a food drive at the Hannaford Bros store in town. They were able to collect numerous bins of food plus a significant amount of cash. The inclement weather caused the group to abandon their solicitation efforts on Saturday, the busiest shopping day of the weekend. In view of this, the results achieved were terrific and again illustrate the dedication of the volunteers and the generosity of the donors.

Our thanks go out to the St. Mary's group, headed by Don Kammon. We would also like to thank the many donors who helped our cause out. Finally, thanks to Hannaford Bros for their willingness to allow this event to occur.
