York County Food Rescue
Program Overview
The purpose of the York County Food Rescue is to help alleviate hunger by enhancing the recovery of donated food in and around York County. In addition, the program improves coordination and communication between the 47 area food pantries and meal programs.
The York County Food Rescue Program streamlines the donation process and ensures that agencies receive, free of charge, an appropriate and equitable amount of food safely and efficiently. In some cases, this rescued food accounts for 50% of the goods that food pantries distribute in their respective communities.
Why Donate to YCFR?
The York County Food Rescue Program is a primary link between food distributors/sellers and the non-profit organizations that serve the hungry of York County. The result of these relationships and collaborations is effective, well-organized, safe and efficient food distribution to the community with the goal that fewer York County residents suffer from hunger and food insecurity.
